TinyUmbrella 5 With iOS 5.0b1 Support Released

Semaphore has announced the release of TinyUmbrella with iOS 5.0b1 support

TinyUmbrella now supports 5.0b1 for all devices. I've added a few nag messages to remind people to update their settings. "Request SHSH from Cydia" and "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit" should be disabled by users as soon as possible especially if you are having issues saving your SHSH. Cydia is ramping down it's proxy service and will eventually offer it no more. It will continue to host SHSHs and I'm working on the new TinyUmbrella which will integrate with those new features. I'll post updates here and on twitter.

Also note that if you preserve your baseband with TinyUmbrella and go to 5.0b1, you will not be able to 'fixrecovery' until I am able to update it. Sorry - I just don't have time to fix it at this moment.

Until fixrecovery is updated you will not be able to kick your device out of recovery mode. Those looking to upgrade their iPhone 4s to iOS 5 while maintaining their current baseband should not attempt this yet. We'll let you know when fixrecovery has been updated.

How to Backup Your SHSH Blobs Using Firmware Umbrella [Windows]

Step One
Download the latest version of Firmware Umbrella from here to your Desktop.

• Fix Recovery [OSX]

Step Two
Right Click umbrella-4.1.13.exe and Choose Run as administrator from the contextual popup menu.

If you get a Windows Security Alert, make sure both boxes are checked, and hit Allow Access.

Step ThreeMake sure your iPhone is plugged into the computer and select it from the list of connected devices on the left

Step FourClick the Save SHSH button.

Step FiveOnce completed you will notice a new entry in the Saved SHSHs for iPhone list confirming the successful save of your SHSH blobs.

NOTES:
If Umbrella is not able to detect your ECID then you can find it and enter it manually. Use these tutorials to help you determine your ECID.

TinyUmbrella is Updated With Support for iOS 4.3.3/4.2.8
