Latest Status On Foxconn Factory Explosion (video)


After the explosion, the factory building is out of shape with shattered windows, and the tailpipe on the roof has been badly.
On Friday, a horrific explosion has occurred at the Foxconn Chengdu plant, caused 3 employees dead. the accidental explosion was caused by combustible dust which gathered at the dust collecting pipe in one of the polishing workshop. Summary of the news report:
*Investigation is underway. Five hundred meters away from the outside plant, road block has been set up, to restrict any unrelated persons and vehicles to enter the place, including the press.
*Several Foxconn workers are gathering outside the factory, they are those who escaped from the explosion, they said they are lucky enough to save their own life.

*One of the escaped employees describes the explosion was louder then thunder, but he was too afraid to disclose anymore information to the TV reporter.

*Outside the factory, Foxconn has set up a temporary family reception area for inquires, allowing employees’ family members to check out the latest status.

*Some of the employees’ family members told the press, they could not contact their loved ones who are working inside the Chengdu’s factory, Foxconn told them they are trying their best to arrange everything, but there are still missing employees who are yet unable to find or contact the people looking for them.

*Foxconn CEO Terry Gou has reached Chengdu factory and handle the overall incharge.

*The production line has been totally terminated at the moment, the factory is empty without any workers, and the production is expected to be resumed on this coming Tuesday.

Road block has been set up outside the factory plant.
All press is not allowed to enter or go nearer to the exploded factory.
Foxconn and Apple have both issued statements on explosion at a Chinese factory where iPad 2s are assembled, according to Mobilized.

Apple
"We are deeply saddened by the tragedy at Foxconn’s plant in Chengdu, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families. We are working closely with Foxconn to understand what caused this terrible event."

Foxconn
"We can confirm that at approximately 7 pm on May 20, there was an explosion at our Chengdu campus. At this point, we can also confirm that there were two fatalities with injuries to 16 other employees. We are working with medical officials to provide treatment to the injured employees and we are working with government and law enforcement officials to contact the families of all employees affected by this tragedy.

The situation has been brought under control by the fire department and the cause of this explosion is being investigated by local police officials. Foxconn is cooperating fully with that investigation. Production has been suspended at the site of the explosion until the completion of the investigation. The safety of our employees is our highest priority and we will do whatever is required to determine and address the cause of this tragic accident."
